In 1926, the Federation had conducted screening of sports compatriots living in Hong Kong for our Country to compete in international sports events with flying colours. As a result, our Country was able to maintain the Asian football laurel for ten years’ time.
Despite the turn up of numerous outstanding sports elites, our former President, Mr George SIM noted that there were limited chances for them to compete at an international level. He was then committed to summon all local sports associations to form the Amateur Sports Federation and Olympic Committee of Hong Kong (ASF & OC) in 1949 with Mr Mose, Chairman of the Hong Kong Jockey Club and General Manager of Hong Kong Shanghai Bank as the Founding President with Mr KWOK Chan and Mr George Sim as Vice Presidents. The sports development of Hong Kong has then been able to step forward with sports elites being qualified to compete in international sports events.
The Federation hosts varieties of sports activities including Winter Swimming, Diving, Basketball, Judo, Volleyball, Bowling, Shuttlecock, Miniature Football and inter-ports football exhibition matches frequently.
The Chairman of the Federation, Mr. Terry Wong, devotes much of his energy and effort in maintaing the spirits of the Federation.
